Ok, but what is that?
Fair question.
Disclaimer: This isn’t about what counts as “good art” or not.
It’s not about style or taste or technique. It’s about what creativity can do to us—
how it helps us move through change, make sense of emotion, and stay connected to something deeper.
It looks nice, but, what is it?
I’ve heard that more than once about my paintings.
And honestly? Fair question.
This isn’t a tree.
It’s not a mountain, a face, or a place you can find on a map.
There are no roads. No cities. No names.
But if you’ve ever been lost in thought—
or caught between memories—
you’ve probably been here.
Let me explain…
Over the last months, I’ve been going through many changes, geographic, emotional, even spiritual.
I find myself living in the realm of in-between:
Not who I was. Not yet who I’m becoming.
Between countries. Between roles. Between the familiar and the unknown.
I painted this piece because I wanted to trace the undercurrents of emotion and memory shaping me from within, the places I visit when I close my eyes.
The seasons inside me that don’t follow a calendar.
And I know I’m not the only one feeling this way.
The way the world is now, it’s easy to feel like we’re all in transition.
So much is shifting beneath the surface, and often, we don’t even have a clue.
Sometimes what we’re feeling isn’t clear.
It isn’t linear.
It doesn’t speak in facts or logic.
It speaks in color.
In movement.
In metaphor.
That’s what abstraction is for.
Abstract art isn’t about being vague or “weird.”
It’s about giving form to what refuses to be boxed in.
It’s about reaching beyond language,
to touch something we know, but can’t quite explain.
So…
we paint.
We write.
We listen.
We find ways to give “shape” to the unseen.
We tend to think of creativity as something we produce.
But sometimes, it’s something we turn to.
A quiet companion.
A way of making sense when nothing quite makes sense.
It gives us space to feel, to process, to breathe.
If you find yourself in transition, in between things, remember: creativity is how we come home to ourselves. And if you feel moved to frame or display your artwork in your place, that’s a bonus.
Is all of this too abstract? Maybe.
But then again, so is life, most days.

Such a compassionate and honest sharing about one of the purposes of creation. It’s not always necessary to mean something or to look like something. Sometimes we just need to take it out. To feel. To be in the flow.
